Pages 238-240: Y. Wainman – Improvisation at the airport!

Guten Tag everyone! Out of all places, I found a great white grand piano at Dortmund airport. Not having any music handy, I dived into improvising! My first improv on the pianathon this year :). Estimated it to be 3 pages! Dedication goes to Steffi and Leszek who just got married, many congratulations to you both again. A beautiful ceremony and an amazing wedding celebration last weekend :). I was thrilled to be there for your special day!

Pages 236-237: Clara Wieck-Schumann: Mazurka

Clara Wieck-Schumann

Today, I’m continuing with another female composer. I’m sight-reading one of Clara Schumann’s Mazurkas (from Soirees musicales Op.6). Dedication goes to my friend Mariangela in the UK who is celebrating her birthday today. I hope you had a great day and that you like this musical piece 🙂 !

Pages 234-235: D. Pejacevic – Gondellied

Dora Pejacevic at her piano.

I had the chance to play on her piano as a teenager visiting her home town Nasice :)!

Today I’m sight-reading a piece by Croatian composer Dora Pejacevic (late 19th century). Known in Croatia, but sadly not well known in the classical music repertoire from the Romantic Period. Tonight, I’m paying tribute to this composer by playing her composition Gondellied. Dedication goes to my friend Inja in Cambridge, UK. Thanks for all your tips on the first leg of my fundraising with the choice of fundraiser page ;). Nadam se da ti ce se svidjati (Pocetak mi malo potsjeca Yann Tiersena ;)).
