Pages 373-381: Chopin – Grande Valse Brillante

Hello everyone! I’m sight-reading a piece requested by my friend Amy in Boston, from my Oxfam fundraiser page. Thank you for you generous donation! You requested one of the grand pieces by Chopin, the Grande Valse Brillante. Hope you will like it :). I didn’t play the repeats as it was 9 pages ;). I’m thrilled as I reached my 380 page count for my second chapter. Last opportunity to donate on my Oxfam page, until Sunday!  As I was without a piano for the last week, thank you Hugo for letting me play on your white e-piano :).

Page 369-372: D. Bowie – Space Oddity… at night

Last piece from the Munich “Play Me, I’m Yours” street piano series, David Bowie’s Space Oddity. With the puppet piano hands and the city turning nocturnal, the atmosphere was fitting for this iconic song! Thank you to pianist/artist Fabo for filming me (great framing :)). Dedication for this song goes to my friend Lorette in France. Un retour a la houseparty de Robert a Boston l’annee derniere :)! Bisous et a bientot!

Pages 365-368: J. Legend – All of Me – Street Piano at Landtag, Munich

The next street piano from the “Play Me, I’m Yours” series is in front of the Bavarian Landtag in Munich (legislature of the state of Bavaria). I’m playing a song request from my Oxfam Fundraiser page 🙂 (two more weeks to donate at: Yelena’s Oxfam Pianathon Page ). To my friend Leyre in Pamplona. Muchas gracias for your generous donation! I hope you like this outdoor version of All of Me on a summer evening in Munich :).

Pages 363-364: Khatchaturian, Andantino

First video/recording from the “Play Me, I’m Yours” series in Munich. Thank you Bettina for the camera work ;). This sofa like piano is at the Promenade Platz. I decided to play the Andantino by Armenian composer Aram Khatchaturian, a piece that I played when I was little :). Dedication goes to my Mum who really likes this composer :). Saljem ti veliku pusa !

Pages 354-362: Muse – Butterflies & Hurricanes

Hello! For all the Muse fans, I hope you’ll approve of a Muse song featured in the pianathon ;). I decided to sight-read/play Butterflies & Hurricanes that I really like and also happens to have an incredible piano part ;D. I need more practice to reach Matt Bellamy’s level ;). Dedication goes to my friend Christelle in France. J’espere que le morceau te plaira! A bientot!

Pages 350-353: Pritam, Tu Jo Mila from Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Before heading off to Munich, I made a piano arrangement for Tu Jo Mila from the movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan for my Indian crew in Boston. Hope to see you guys soon across the channel or in Bean-town :)! Thank you Fabien for the song suggestion :). Hope you guys will like this piano cover ;).

Pages 343-349: L. Cohen – Hallelujah

Today, I’m playing a classic song-writer song by great singer and composer Leonard Cohen. A song that has been covered by various artists. I would like to dedicate this ballade to my Mum’s cousin Jadranka in Croatia. Thinking of you and wishing you a good recovery. Puno mislimo na tebe i volimo te jako!

Pages 338-342: M. Mrvica – Croatian Rhapsody

Today, I’m sight-reading/playing a song request from my Oxfam Fundraiser page by my friend Anna in Montreal. Many thanks for your generous donation! I hope you’ll enjoy the piece :)! I remember seeing Maksim Mrvica’s concert many years ago in Paris and was very impressive, he’s a great pianist.

Pages 329-337: Bizet – Carmen Selection

Tonight, some opera on the pianathon menu :). Probably, the most beloved opera of all times, I’m playing a selection of songs from Bizet’s Carmen: the Habanera (of course!), Seguedille et Duo and the Torreador theme. Dedication goes to my friend Bryn in Boston, remembering our theatre outing to see the South African Khayelitsha production of U-Carmen in Boston ;). See you soon!
