Today has been a very sad day on the Pianathon. Yesterday, I lost a very dear friend of mine: Negar Miralaei who passed away very suddenly in a car accident. You will be deeply missed. I decided to play Chopin’s Raindrop Prelude at Emmanuel College in Cambridge with a gathering of some of your close friends from college, where we all have fond memories of our times together as students. My thoughts are with her family and close friends in these difficult times. May she rest in peace. روحش شاد
Today, I am playing a famous area by opera composer Puccini: ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’ (‘Oh my Beloved Father’). This is a song request from my Mum from the Oxfam Fundraiser. Many thanks for your generous and unique ’33’ number donation :)! Saljem ti veliku pusu i nadam se da ti se ova verzija svidjati :).
Tonight, I have decided to play a famous piece with an version that it not often heard… Over the Rainbow in a jazz version, composed by jazz pianist Keith Jarrett. I recently discovered this version and really liked it. Dedication for this piece goes to my Teta Buba in Slatina, Croatia who recently had her birthday :). Sretan ti rodjendan uz ovu pjesmu. Posveta ide za Misu: mislim da bi mu se svidjala ova verzija pjesme. Pusa iz Munchena.
Hello everyone! I’m playing one of the song requests from my pianathon Oxfam fundraiser chapter: Exile Vilify by The National. Thank you Echoe and Craig for you generous donation! With you donation, my 650 pounds target was reached :). Thank you for also making me discover this great song by The National which I hadn’t heard before, great to play on the piano as well :).
I’m sure you are missing some Disney tunes :). After having played Can You Feel the Love Tonight earlier this year in the pianathon, I’m playing the Circle of Life from The Lion King. The movie was my favourite as a kid! Dedication for this song goes to my friends Echoe and Craig in Boston. When I hear this song, it always makes me think of being in the outdoors! Hope you’ll like it :).
I’m delighted to announce that my pianathon’s 2nd chapter is now complete with 384 pages and £623 raised for Oxfam (initial target £500). A big thank you to all of you for your continued support! Your likes and comments kept the piano tunes coming along :). More to come!
Hello everyone! Today, I’m sigh-reading/playing a piano piece by Czech composer Leos Janacek from his series On an Overgrown Path. Dedication goes to my friend Elizabeth in Prague. You asked me to play a Czech piece so I decided to play a piece by Janacek :). I hope you like it! Greetings from the mountains!
